CanPrint deploys state-of-the-art Océ digital printing solutions

Leading Canberra printer CanPrint Communications has commissioned its new state-of-the-art digital print solution from Océ. The most modern digital printing equipment in the Canberra region.

The Océ VarioStream 7450 twin digital web-press with inline Hunkeler roll to cut sheet block system and MBO folder offers clients new opportunities in book production, and lightweight stock applications. The VarioStream has the capability to print up to 880 A4 pages per minute on various stocks from 160 gsm right down to 45 gsm.

For cut-sheet work, the VarioPrint 5160 cut sheet digital printer can achieve 162 pages per minute up to A3 in black or black with a spot colour on stocks ranging from 60 to 190 gsm. It also boasts inline stitching capabilities.

Short-run colour printing work will benefit from CanPrint's Océ CPS900 full colour cut-sheet system. The CPS900 is leading technology, released by Océ earlier this year. Unlike conventional digital colour platforms, the CPS900 uses a direct imaging process taking stock out of the equation. This ensures consistently high-quality output, even over long runs. The CPS900 provides an image with a very similar look and feel to that of traditional offset printing.

All three printers are integrated with the Océ Document Designer system. This all-in-one software provides support for structured variable and fixed data processing, layout creation, and structured data output for high-speed printing.
